2008-09 Schedule
RIVERDALE, N.Y. ? The full 2008-09 Manhattan College women's basketball schedule was announced today by head coach Myndi Hill in conjunction with the release of the complete 2008-09 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) schedule. The Lady Jaspers will host 13 games at Draddy Gymnasium, including a regionally-televised contest against MAAC rival Iona on Monday, February 9.
Manhattan opens the season with non-conference road games at St. Francis (NY) (Nov. 14), Massachusetts (Nov. 16) and Fordham (Nov. 19) before taking on St. John's in the home opener on Nov. 22. The Lady Jaspers conclude November with non-conference tilts at Hofstra (Nov. 25) and at home against Vermont (Nov. 28) and Sacred Heart (Nov. 30). Manhattan's season-long four-game homestand concludes the next weekend with the Lady Jaspers' first two conference games. Manhattan hosts Loyola on Dec. 5 and Saint Peter's on Dec. 7.
After visiting Stony Brook on Dec. 15, Manhattan heads west to visit Portland (Dec. 19) and Portland State (Dec. 21) before concluding non-conference play at home against Army on Dec. 30.
The Lady Jaspers' final 16 contests are MAAC games, starting with a visit to Iona on Jan. 4. Manhattan hosts Canisius on Jan. 9 and Rider on Jan. 11, then plays five of its next six games on the road. Manhattan begins the swing with its annual Buffalo trip. The Lady Jaspers visit Niagara on Jan. 16, with the rematch against Canisius scheduled two days later. Manhattan returns home to take on Siena on Jan. 23 before hitting the road again for three straight. The Lady Jaspers head to Fairfield on Jan. 25 and visit three-time defending MAAC champion Marist on Jan. 30. Manhattan's road trip concludes at Siena on Feb. 1.
Manhattan returns home to take on Niagara on Feb. 6, then hosts Iona on Feb. 9. The Iona game will be televised regionally as a part of the MAAC-TV package. The Lady Jaspers visit Rider (Feb. 13) and Loyola (Feb. 15) before hosting Marist on Feb. 19. Manhattan's final road contest is scheduled for Feb. 23 at Saint Peter's. The Lady Jaspers conclude the regular season with a matchup against Fairfield at Draddy Gym on Feb. 28.
The 2009 MAAC Tournament will take place from March 5-8 at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y.
