Sandra Taylor ?93 Departs Manhattan College After 17 Years of Dedicated Service

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - After 17 years of dedicated service to Manhattan College and its Athletic Department, alumna Sandra Taylor '93 will leave the college for an Academic Advisement position at NJIT. Taylor was in her 11th year serving as the college's Associate Athletic Director and Senior Women's Administrator. She began her tenure at Manhattan during the 1993-94 academic year as a graduate assistant, and was promoted to full-time status as the department's Compliance Coordinator and Ticket Manager in 1995-96.

"Words can't express how appreciative we all are for Sandra's tireless service to Manhattan College and the thousands of student-athletes she has mentored," stated Director of Athletics Robert Byrnes. "We wish her the absolute best in this new opportunity and future endeavors."

During her tenure, Taylor represented Manhattan College on numerous conference and national committees. Most notably, she served as the Chair of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Committee since 1997. Taylor was also the Vice Chair of the MAAC Committee on Athletic Administration, as well as an active member on the MAAC's Women's Lacrosse, Track & Field and Championships Review Committees.

Taylor has worked with several NCAA committees, including the Division I Management Council, Division I Strategic Planning Cabinet and Initial Eligibility Waiver Committee, and NCAA Women's Lacrosse Committee serving as the Chair in 2005-06.

A 1993 graduate with a degree in secondary education, Taylor earned her master's degree in special education from Manhattan in 1995. She has completed the course work and dissertation for her doctoral degree in education leadership.
