Edison, NJ - Manhattan College's Brian McGovern and Malin Marmbrandt were named the MAAC Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Performers of the Week, respectively.
McGovern, a 5-9 freshman from Yonkers, New York, vaulted 4.95-meters at the Albany Great Dane Classic to become only the second Manhattan pole vaulter to ever go over 16 feet in the event. The height is an IC4A and Met qualifying mark and was good for a second place finish at the meet held at the Armory Track and Field Center in New York City.
Marmbrandt, a 5-5 senior from Sweden, took home a gold medal in the long jump at the Albany Great Dane Classic. Marmbrandt won the event with an IC4A/ECAC qualifying mark of 5.79-meters and she also set a personal record in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.31 seconds.
The MAAC Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held on Friday, February 19th at The Armory Track & Field Center in New York City.
