Boston, Mass. -- The Manhattan College women's track and field team closed out the final day of the ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships in eighth place overall, an all-time best finish in the prestigious meet for the Lady Jaspers. Meanwhile, the men closed out the IC4A Indoor Track and Field Championship meet with a 12th place finish overall.
Highlighting the women's performance Sunday in Boston was a fourth place finish in the 1000 meter run by Maria Jangsten, who set a school record by running 2:50.63. Additionally, the women's 4 x 400 meter relay team of Heidy Palacios, Ashey Bowman, Emmy Koskinen and Cara Rostant also placed fourth in 3:45.66. Palacios took sixth place in the 500 meter event in 1:14.73 and Malin Marmbrandt, who won a silver medal the long jump during Saturday's session, placed 10th in the triple jump Sunday with a 11.89m mark.
On the men's side, Alex Hudak took a bronze medal in the 800 meter run in 1:51.04.
