Manhattan Women Earn USTFCCCA Team All-Academic Honors

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Manhattan College women's track & field team has been selected as one of 151 Division I All-Academic Track & Field Teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).  As a team, the Lady Jaspers posted a cumulative GPA of 3.22 during the 2009-10 school year.

Teams that achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher for the academic year are recognized.  Manhattan and Iona were the only Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) schools to receive the honor.  Oklahoma's team GPA of 3.62 was the best in the nation.

In addition to the women's team honor, two Manhattan student-athletes were named to the individual USTFCCCA All-Academic squads.  Malin Marmbrandt (Enkoping, Sweden) was named to the women's team for the second straight season, while Roman Ewald (Olching, Germany) earned a place on the men's squad.
