RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The 2011-12 Manhattan College men's and women's basketball seasons officially get underway on Friday night when Draddy Gymnasium hosts Manhattan Madness. The event, which is sponsored by Manhattan College Student Activities and Student Government, will feature performances by the Manhattan cheerleaders, Jasper dancers and Jasper pep band. In addition, there will be a number of contests where students can win cash and other prizes.
The highlight of Manhattan Madness is the introduction of the 2011-12 Manhattan men's and women's basketball teams. Head Coaches John Olenowski and Steve Masiello will both make brief comments before their teams hit the floor for short practices. There will also be a special appearance by Mr. Met, as well as the Nets dancers and mascot.
Doors open at 9 p.m. and admission is free. All Jaspers fans are encouraged to attend. Manhattan Madness t-shirts will be distributed at the door.
