BEFORE MANHATTAN: Played high school ball at Christ the King in Queens for head coach Billy Oettinger and assistant coach Greg Modica... earned Catholic High School Athletic Association First Team honors as a senior... earned All-Queens and All-New York City recognition as a senior after earning three wins with a 2.76 ERA and 68 strikeouts in 42 innings of action... tossed a no-hitter to help Christ the King take a 1-0 victory over Holy Cross... pitched a complete-game, one-hitter and struck out 11 to lift the Royals to a 2-0 win against St. Francis Prep... logged a season-high 12 strikeouts in eight innings against McClancy leading Christ the King to a 3-2 win... participated in the 2011 New York City Mayor's Cup All-Star Game and closed contest by striking out the side in the final inning.
