RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan junior right-hander John Soldinger was named MAAC Pitcher of the Week after delivering an exceptional performance at #20 Maryland on Friday. The reigning MAAC Pitcher of the Year struck out eight Terps and yielded only two hits in seven strong innings of work on the hill.
Soldinger set a season-high with eight strikeouts before turning the ball over to the bullpen with a 2-1 lead in the eighth inning. In two starts this season, Soldinger has maintained a 1.29 ERA, which is the second best in the MAAC, and he has struck out 15 batters.
