|Manhattan Hires Amanda McEntire as Assistant Athletic Director|
RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan College welcomes Amanda McEntire who was recently hired as the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Event Management. McEntire will oversee the operations and scheduling for Manhattan's athletic facilities at Draddy Gymnasium, Gaelic Park and Van Cortlandt Park.
McEntire comes to Manhattan from New York University where she most recently served as the Athletic Department's Facility and Event Manager, a position she held since 2010. Her responsibilities included supervising the day-to-day operations of the Palladium Athletic Facility (PAF). In this role, McEntire managed the full-time operational and equipment room staff and part-time employees, while also serving as the primary contact with building engineers, maintenance crew and vendors.
Additionally, McEntire served as the on-site event manager for all of the Violets' home varsity events and championships. She oversaw operations and staffing at each of NYU's venues, which include the Jerome S. Coles Sports & Recreation Center, the PAF, Gaelic Park, Van Cortlandt Park, and the 168th St. Armory.

McEntire arrived at NYU in September 2007 to serve as a Policy Analyst for the Office of Government and Community Affairs. McEntire acted as a liaison to elected officials, city agencies, community boards, and non-profits to communicate University initiatives. She also represented NYU at Public Hearings and Community Board meetings.
"Having worked with Amanda these past two years at NYU games held at Gaelic Park, I know we have hired a terrific professional," said Manhattan College Director of Athletic Bob Byrnes. "She is a very knowledgeable and detail oriented individual who will greatly aid the professional appearance of Manhattan Athletics moving forward."
Prior to NYU, McEntire worked as the Regional Coordinator for the New York Road Runners Foundation where she managed and provided oversight to over 50 youth service programs throughout New York City.
She began her career working in collegiate athletics in 2003 at the University of San Diego as the Assistant Events Coordinator. McEntire went on to work in the athletic department at Stanford University as the Guest Services Manager from 2003-2004. In this role, she supervised a 75 member event staff and was responsible for all management duties, including training, payroll, scheduling and hiring. McEntire was also responsible for game day operations for several varsity teams in her time at Stanford.
Her work in athletics began with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) as the Tournament Director of the Zonals Tennis Tournament in Austin, Texas. For the USTA she organized the five day event that featured 160 participants.
A 2002 graduate of the University of Texas with Bachelor of Arts degrees in philosophy and history, McEntire was a member of the Longhorns' women's tennis team. She earned her Master of Science in non-profit management with a focus in policy analysis in 2012 from Milano's The New School for Management and Urban Policy.
