Women Sign Two in Early Signing Period

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Women's swim coach Walter Olsewski ('68) announced the signing of two swimmers to national letters of intent on Monday. Patricia Colton (Washingtonville, N.Y./Washingtonville) and Kiersten Buelow (Murrieta, Calif./Murrieta Valley) will add depth to the Jaspers beginning in the 2013-14 season.

Colton, a talented sprinter, recently led her schools 200 freestyle relay team to the New York State Girls public high school championships where they competed in the consolation finals.

"Patricia will help us in the sprint events as well as the medley and freestyle relays," said Olsewski. "Her addition will help compensate for the loss of Nadine Maher to graduation."

Buelow is a distance swimmer that will look to contribute to the program almost immediately. "Kiersten is an excellent middle and distance swimmer who will complement our returning swimmers," Olsewski noted. "She will also assist us in the backstroke events after the departure off tri-captain Jackie Mamary."
