RIVERDALE, N.Y. ? Manhattan College alumnus Chris Cody '06 received Southern League Pitcher of the Week honors after recording two road wins with the Huntsville Stars, a Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers organization. Cody lowered his ERA to 1.29 after allowing just one earned run over 12 innings of work during the week. Over four starts this season, Cody has recorded 20 strikeouts, while holding opponents to a .182 batting average and just three earned runs in 21 innings of action.
The former Jasper standout holds career records at Manhattan in strikeouts (295), wins (29) and complete games (19). Cody helped lead Manhattan to the biggest win in program history by defeating Nebraska in the 2006 NCAA Tournament. He tossed a complete game, struck out seven batters and allowed one run, en route to a 4-1 triumph.
