RIVERDALE, N.Y. ? Manhattan College women's basketball head coach John Olenowski completed his staff with the hiring of Kristen Piscadlo as an assistant coach, it was announced today. Piscadlo joins the Lady Jaspers after three seasons on Jean Marie Burr's staff at Brown University.
“I am extremely excited to be joining the staff here at Manhattan College,” Piscadlo said. “I look forward to working with an already strong coaching staff and working together as a team towards a MAAC championship.”
A 2006 graduate of Muhlenberg College, Piscadlo is the Mules' all-time leader with 424 career assists. She also holds the Muhlenberg record for assists in a single-season and ranks second with 197 career steals.
Piscadlo was named First Team All-Centennial Conference and Third Team All-Mid-Atlantic Region after helping Muhlenberg win a school-record 26 games during the 2004-05 season. That season, the Mules won the Centennial Conference championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
She joined the Brown coaching staff in 2006-07 after working as an assistant for the New Jersey Rising Stars AAU team in the summer following her graduation. Piscadlo has also worked a number of basketball camps as a coaching assistant at Rutgers Preparatory School, Fairleigh Dickinson University and Swarthmore College.
Olenowski's other assistant coaches, Sonia Burke and Christine Catalanotto, were both retained from the previous coaching staff. Burke returns for her seventh season in Riverdale, while Catalanotto enters her second season as an assistant coach with the Lady Jaspers.
The Lady Jaspers return three starters and 11 letterwinners from last year's squad. Manhattan also welcomes four newcomers for Olenowski's first season at the helm.
