Manhattan College rising sophomore Albert Johnson III today qualified for the USA Junior National Team in the triple jump today with a second place finish on the final day of competition, at the 2009 USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field. He grabbed the silver medal with a jump of 15.65m.
Johnson will now be competing for the U.S. Junior Team at the Pan Am Championships on July 31 and August 1 in the country of Trinidad & Tobago.
Also competing for the U.S. this summer will be Manhattan alum Jake Freeman, who will be taking part in the U.S. Team at the World Track and Field Championships in Berlin.
