GENERAL: Co-captain... will be relied upon once again as a MAAC starter... earned significant mound time and experience over first three seasons in Riverdale... enters the season in great physical condition... wants the ball in the big game...hard pitching right hander... one of top strikeout pitchers in the MAAC.

2009: Named to the MAAC All-Academic Team... posted 5.40 ERA and 7-2 overall record... seven wins tied for third most in the MAAC... appeared in 19 games, starting 12... finished third in the MAAC with 73 strikeouts in 80.0 innings of work... ranked second in the conference with 29 strikeouts looking... logged a .284 batting average against and yielded 48 earned runs... went 5-1 in MAAC contests with a 4.10 ERA... tied a career-high recording 10 strikeouts in a victory over Sacred Heart (4/14)... pitched eight strong innings in relief and registered eight strikeouts in win over Canisius (4/26)... twirled 7.1 innings allowing just two earned runs and notching three strikeouts in the MAAC Tournament versus Marist... posted 20th career victory in a victory at Iona (5/15) becoming just the fifth Jasper to reach the 20-win plateau.

2008: Preseason All-MAAC selection... named to MAAC All-Academic Team... posted 5-2 record over 16 appearances and 13 starts... selected MAAC Pitcher of the Week twice (3/31 & 4/21)... finished second on the team with 58 strikeouts and tied for second in the MAAC with 28 strikeouts looking... tossed first career complete game in a 3-2 victory over LeMoyne (3/30)... threw complete game shutout in win over Iona (4/19), while recording a season-high seven strikeouts...twirled 84.1 innings and registered a 5.34 ERA... posted wins against UMBC (3/9), LeMoyne (3/30) and Fairfield (5/15).

2007: Appeared in 15 games, making 12 starts... earned Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American honors... posted an 8-3 record with a 3.84 ERA... tallied 64 strikeouts in 89.0 innings of work... made his collegiate debut with 2.0 innings of no-hit relief in season-opener at South Florida (2/23)... made his first collegiate start at Wofford (3/10)... earned the save at Florida International (3/13)... picked up his first collegiate win vs. Canisius (3/26), working 8.0 innings, allowing one run and striking out six... named to the Collegiate Baseball Foundation National Honor Roll on March 27... named MAAC Rookie of the Week on April 2 and April 23... tallied 10 strikeouts vs. NJIT (3/17) and at Fairfield (5/6)... won his first four MAAC starts, working at least eight innings each time... ranked tied for first among MAAC freshmen in wins and strikeouts, and second in ERA... played his summer baseball for the New York Generals of the ACBL, leading the team with a 3.13 ERA and four wins.

BEFORE MANHATTAN: Named First Team All-State and All-Section as a senior at Our Lady of Lourdes... earned Section I Pitcher of the Year and Poughkeepsie Journal Pitcher of the Year following his senior campaign... pitched 10 innings and earned the win in the 2006 New York State Class A Championship Game... a two-time Puma Preseason All-American... posted a 5-2 record as a junior, leading his team to the sectional championship game... received First Team All-League honors and was named a Poughkeepsie Journal Scholar-Athlete as a junior... played for Hudson Valley at the 2005 Empire State Games... member of National Honor Society... named to the Honor Roll every semester in high school.

PERSONAL: An engineering major... son of Tom and Sue Costigan... has five siblings, Jake, Sarah, Pete, Tim, and Julie.
