Slattery Named to MAAC Baseball All-Tournament Team
LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Manhattan College senior Brendan Slattery was named to the 2014 MAAC Baseball All-Tournament team, the conference office announced after the tournament.
Slattery had five base hits in 11 at-bats in the Jaspers' two games in the tournament, batting .455. He scored two runs and drove in three, including two to tie Monmouth in dramatic fashion on Thursday evening. The two-run single knotted the game at 6-6, forcing a suspended game that resumed the next morning. The Hawks eventually defeated the Jaspers 8-7 in a 15-inning thriller.
Slattery was a key cog in the Jaspers' lineup that helped Manhattan win seven of its final nine conference games to reach the MAAC Tournament as the sixth seed. Slattery finished his season with a .324 batting average, .415 on-base percentage and a team-high 25 runs batted in.
