Siena Defeats Manhattan

Albany, NY - Siena posted a 94-71 win over Manhattan at the Times Union Center thanks to five double-figure scorers.
The Saints improve to 13-15 and 10-7 in the MAAC while the Jaspers fall to 9-19 and 4-13 in the league.
Junior Zavier Turner (Indianapolis, IN / Ball State) notched his 10th 20-point performance of the year, finishing with 20 to go along with four assists. Classmate Zane Waterman (Winston-Salem, NC / Fayetteville Academy) added 17 points and nine rebounds while sophomore Thomas Capuano (Hastings-on-Hudson, NY / Iona Prep) rounded out the double-figure scorers with 16.
Despite the loss, Manhattan shot a solid 44.0 percent (22-of-50) from the floor, including 44.4 percent (8-of-18) from deep, while forcing 16 miscues that led to a 20-17 advantage in points off turnovers.
Siena jumped out to a 41-29 lead at the break thanks to shooting 51.7 percent (15-of-29) from the floor while posting an 18-12 advantage on the glass.
After halftime, the Saint advantage quickly grew to 50-30 just over three minutes in before the visitors fought back with an 8-1 run spurt whle forcing a timeout. Unfortunately, Siena responded with seven-straight points in against stretching its lead to 20.
Manhattan would trim the deficit to 13 on two more occasions but get no closer.
Nico Clareth scored 20 points to pace five double-figure scorers for a Saint team that made good on 57.7 percent (30-of-52) for the game.
The Jaspers return to action on Sunday, February 19 at 6:00 pm against Quinnipiac on Senior Night.
