RIVERDALE, NY – Stefan Hoeller (Bergisch Gladbach, Germany) of the Manhattan College men's track & field team has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team.  He's the first Jasper to earn a spot on the Academic All-District squad since Lina Bengtson (Malmo, Sweden) in 2015, and Manhattan's first men's selection since Roman Ewald in 2012.

A six-time Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic Team selection, Hoeller graduated from Manhattan earlier this month with a degree in finance.  He was previously named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team in 2013-14.

At the 2017 MAAC Outdoor Championships, he took first in the 400 meter hurdles while also finishing sixth in both the 110 meter hurdles and pole vault.  He was third in the pole vault and fourth in the 60 meter hurdles at the 2017 MAAC Indoor Championships.  In 2016, Hoeller won the heptathlon at the IC4A Indoor Championships.

Only student-athletes who have completed at least two semesters at their institution with a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher are eligible for Academic All-District honors.  As an All-District selection, Hoeller now moves on to the national ballot.  The Academic All-America Team will be announced in June.
