Lombardi Proclaimed MAAC Baseball Player of the Week

RIVERDALE, N.Y.Manhattan College senior Dom Lombardi was named MAAC Baseball Player of the Week this afternoon at conference headquarters for his brilliant performance over the Jaspers’ three contests with Rider last week. It marks Lombardi’s second Player of the Week honor in the last three weeks.

 

Lombardi, a product of St. Raymond’s, anchored the Jaspers’ offensive attack going 7-for-10 (.700) from the plate, notching three RBIs and boasting a 1.200 slugging percentage to lead Manhattan to a pair of victories at Rider. Lombardi tallied three doubles and a triple, while extending his consecutive game hit streak to five.

 

In the first contest of the series, Lombardi was a perfect 3-for-3 and scored four runs, helping Manhattan to a 20-3 rout of the Broncs. Then on Saturday, he guided the team to a series clinching victory by going 3-for-4 from the plate and knocked in two runs in a 7-3 win. Lombardi also harbored a .769 on base percentage last week.

 

Lombardi has started all 17 games for the Jaspers this season. He currently leads the squad with a .397 batting average, seven doubles, two triples, 23 runs scored and a .545 on base percentage.
