Riverdale, N.Y. -- The Manhattan College women's swimming team once again stood out the classroom this past spring semester, ranking 52nd out of 81 Division 1 swim teams that qualified for College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Academic All-American status.
The Lady Jaspers produced a 3.20 team GPA to earn their way onto the CSCAA Academic All-American Teams list for the 22nd consecutive semester.
“This makes every single semester since 1997 that we have qualified for this honor,” said Walter Olsewski, the head coach of the Jasper women’s swim team.
Contributing to this effort were five members of the Jasper women’s swim team who were named to the 2007-08 MAAC Women's Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team. Named to the MAAC All-Academic team from Manhattan were seniors Michelle LaTouche and Maura McGowan, juniors Megan O’Keefe and Anne Mohan and sophomore Catherine Chan. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
