Men's Soccer Falls to Saint Peter's 2-0

Riverdale, N.Y. (October 31, 2009)  -- The Manhattan College men's soccer team gave up a goal five minutes before halftime and then 15 minutes into the second half on the way to a 2-0 loss to Saint Peter's College Saturday afternoon in a match played at Gaelic Park.

Manhattan outshot Saint Peter's 6-5 in the first half, but in the 40th minute gave up a goal to Dimitri Peltz who scored from 18 yards out off a pass from Zabit Ahmati.

Then ten minutes into the second half, the Peacocks picked up an insurance goal when Ahmati headed in a corner kick.

Saint Peter's (now 4-11-0 overall and 2-5-0 in the MAAC) wound up outshooting Manhattan on the afternoon.  They also had a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.

Manhattan's Christopher Todd had one save in net for the Jaspers, while Saint Peter's keeper Tyler Clarhaut did not have a save.

Manhattan's stays at home for its final two games of the year - Friday at 7 p.m. against Rider University and Sunday at 10 a.m. against Loyola University.  Sunday will be Senior Day.
