RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Starting with the season opener against St. Francis (NY) next Friday night, the Manhattan College women's basketball team will hold a season-long winter clothing drive, the team announced today.  The Lady Jaspers have partnered with Part of the Solution (POTS) Soup Kitchen to bring warmth and comfort to those in need within the local community.  Donations will be accepted at every home game this season, and can also be brought to the women's basketball office in Draddy Gymnasium.

In addition, the Lady Jaspers will host a "Hoops for Cancer" night on Saturday, Dec. 19.  On that night, Manhattan takes on Cornell at 7 p.m., and the Lady Jaspers are asking for donations to the American Cancer Society.  The team will be accepting flat monetary donations, as well as donations of a certain amount per basket during the contest.  A cancer information booth will also be set up on the night of the game.
