Lady Jaspers Honored for Academic Excellence
RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Manhattan College women's lacrosse team has been named to the 2010 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association's Academic Squad. One of 51 teams to be honored for their efforts in the classroom, schools must accumulate a GPA of 3.0 or higher to qualify for the distinction.
Along with the team achievements, the IWLCA also named its 2010 Academic Honor Roll. Of the 151 student-athletes from 62 different institutions, having achieved at least junior status academically, six were Lady Jaspers.
Among those selected were juniors Cristina Tarulli (Accounting), Julia Lavelle (Communications), Kristen Brenner (Secondary Education), Phelicia VanOverbeke (Biology), and seniors Caralyn Hickey (Elementary Education) and Helen Kerrisk (Accounting).
La Salle University's Jill Davis was named the 2010 IWLCA Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
