RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Three players-Caitlin Bricketto (Coral Springs, Fla.), Catherine Clark (Salem, Conn.) and Alyssa Rosello (Garden City, N.Y.) have joined the Manhattan College women's tennis roster as freshmen for the 2011-12 season, Head Coach Scott Blumberg announced today.  They join a squad that also returns seven letterwinners from last season.

"All three of these ladies will make an immediate impact on the team, and their addition will definitely boost both our singles and doubles line-ups," Blumberg said.

Bricketto attended Kaplan College Preparatory School while training at the prestigious Chris Evert Tennis Academy in Boca Raton, Fla.  As a junior at Kaplan, she was named an athletic scholar and received her award from Evert herself.  Bricketto was also one of the top junior players in the State of Florida, playing in numerous ITF (International Tennis Federation) and USTA-sanctioned junior tournaments.

Clark comes to Manhattan from Bacon Academy, where she was the No. 1 singles player for three years.  As a senior, she posted a 15-1 record during the regular season and reached the ECC quarterfinals.  Clark also reached the second round of the State Open in 2011.  A three-time ECC Medium Division all-star, she was also a first team all-area and first-team all-county selection.

Rosello played six years of tennis at Garden City High School on Long Island.  A two-time team captain, she was named Most Improved Player after leading Garden City to the conference championship as a senior.  In addition, Rosello regularly played in USTA junior tournaments and worked her way up to the No. 2 ranking in New York.  She also represented Long Island at the 2010 Empire State Games in Buffalo.

The Jaspers begin the 2011-12 season with a pair of home matches at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center next weekend.  Manhattan plays Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) rival Rider on Saturday, Sept. 17, then takes on Monmouth in a non-conference matchup the following day.
