RIVERDALE, N.Y. - For the third straight week, a member of the Manhattan College women's indoor track & field team has been selected Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Performer of the Week.  Junior Cara Rostant (Valley Stream, N.Y.) was chosen after qualifying for the ECAC Championships in two different events at the Giegengack Invitational last weekend.

Rostant won both the 200 and 400 meters last weekend.  In the 200, she notched a season-best time of 24.61 seconds.  Rostant then came back the next day to win the 400 by more than a second, notching her second ECAC-qualifying time of the weekend, 55.56 seconds.  Both times are the best in the MAAC this season.

This marks the second time in her career that Rostant has earned MAAC Performer of the Week honors.  She received the award on March 29 last outdoor season.  She becomes the third Jasper woman in as many weeks, and fourth overall, to be named MAAC Performer of the Week this season.  Karolin Wagner (Ribbesbuettel, Germany) (Dec. 13), Heidy Palacios (Yonkers, N.Y.) (Jan. 24) and Andrea Nyback (Koping, Sweden) (Jan. 31) have also been selected.  In addition, Roman Ewald (Olching, Germany (Dec. 6) and Albert Johnson III (Painted Post, N.Y.) (Jan. 24) have received MAAC Performer of the Week honors on the men's side.

The Jaspers are back in action on Wednesday, when they host the Manhattan College Invitational at 11 a.m.  On Saturday, Manhattan will compete in the Millrose Games Collegiate Invitational from the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center.
