| Manhattan Sits Sixth at MAAC Championships | |||

LAKE BEUNA VISTA, Fla. - After day one of competition at the 2012 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Golf Championships, the Manhattan Jaspers find themselves sitting in sixth place out of eight schools. The Jaspers have a team score of 311 after round one at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course.
Manhattan is currently led by junior Matthew Creamer who shot an opening round 76 and is in a tie for 17th. He is followed by teammate Chris Calabro who sits in a tie for 21st after a five-over 77 on day one. Seniors Pat Bibaud and Robert Kehoe are 26th and 34th after shooting scores of 78 and 80 respectively. The Jaspers fifth golfer, freshman Mike Schutsky is currently 10 over for the tournament after an opening round 82 on Friday. Four-time defending champion Loyola (Md.) leads the team standings with a combined score of 286, while the Greyhounds Jay Mulieri is on top of the individual leader board after a two-under 70 opening round score. Round two will begin on Saturday, April 28, at 7:30 a.m. while the first Jasper to tee-off, Pat Bibaud, resumes play at 8:20 a.m. The tournament continues throughout the weekend with round three being played on Sunday.
