DES MOINES, Iowa - Manhattan College freshman Anastas Papazov (Balchik, Bulgaria) contested the men's hammer throw final at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships from Drake University's Drake Stadium on Friday afternoon. Papazov finished in 16th place with a top mark of 61.85 meters (202 feet, 11 inches).
After a 61.65 m (202'3) toss on his first attempt, Papazov's second effort was his best. He didn't improve on his last throw and missed the finals by just under two meters. With his 16th-place showing, Papazov earned Second Team All-America honors. |
