BALTIMORE - Manhattan College's Phil Ragan (Belmar, N.J.) won the young men's javelin throw at the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships from Morgan State University on Saturday. Ragan uncorked a toss of 60.67 meters (199 feet) to win the competition by 20 centimeters.
At the USATF Junior Championships last month, Ragan placed seventh to earn Junior All-American status. The school record-holder in the event (64.95 m, 213'1), Ragan finished third at the 2012 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Outdoor Championships. |
