Manhattan Madness, Green & White Game Dates Set
RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Fans can catch a glimpse of the Manhattan basketball teams for the first time this season on Fri., Oct. 12 at the highly anticipated Manhattan Madness kickoff event. Manhattan Madness traditionally draws a capacity crowd in Draddy Gymnasium as the men's and women's programs are introduced to the Jasper faithful. There will also be featured performances by the Manhattan spirit squads and giveaways for everyone in attendance. Admission is free and doors open at 9:30 p.m.
Then on Wed., Oct. 24 the Manhattan men's basketball team holds its annual Green & White intrasquad scrimmage. The contest begins at 5:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
The Manhattan men's basketball team's 2012-2013 campaign consists of 12 home games, including Manhattan's exhibition with CW Post on Thurs., Nov. 1. At least four of the Jaspers home contests will be televised nationally on the ESPN family of networks and the rest will be streamed live at JasperVision.tv in High Definition.
The Jasper women host 16 home games, beginning the season with seven of the first 10 contests in Riverdale. The season opener is scheduled for Sat., Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. against Towson at Draddy Gymnasium. ESPN3 will broadcast Manhattan's contest with defending MAAC champion Marist on Fri., Jan. 25.
