Neuendorf Named MAAC Swimmer of the Week
Neuendorf won all seven events he competed in during the meets, breaking two school records in the process. On Sunday, the rookie led off the 200 yard medley relay squad with a 25.99 second split en route to the event victory. He also added two individual wins against the Highlanders in the 200 free (1:46.47 seconds) and 100 fly posting a time of 54.22 seconds. His performance helped the Jaspers end a five-meet losing skid with a 99-91 win.
Lance followed up that performance with a 4-win day on Monday at MAAC rival Iona helping Manhattan to a 155-125 meet victory. Again he led off the 200 medley relay helping the team drop two seconds off their time on Sunday. A former New York State champion, Lance broke two school records on the day in both the 100 and 200 back.
His 100 yard backstroke time of 53.41 seconds led a trio of Jaspers in the event while his record 200 back time of 1:56.76 seconds was a full second faster than the previous school mark. Finally, Neuendorf ended his stellar weekend with a first place finish in the 100 yard fly with a time of 52.86 seconds, a new personal best. Overall he helped to accrue 67 total team points during the week including 45 individual points.
