RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Manhattan College head women’s basketball coach Myndi Hill has resigned her position as announced by Director of Athletics Bob Byrnes on Thursday. Manhattan will begin a national search for a new coach immediately.
“This was not an easy decision, but I think it was the right one moving forward, for both myself and the program,” Hill said. “I enjoyed my time at Manhattan, but I felt it was time for me to move on, both personally and professionally. I wish the program much success in the future.”
Under her leadership, the Lady Jaspers excelled in the classroom with 24 student-athletes named to the MAAC All-Academic team, including a league-high six this season. Additionally, following the 2004-05 campaign, Manhattan was ranked 13th nationally by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) for the team grade point average among Division I programs.
On the court, Hill mentored nine different All-MAAC performers, including 2009 MAAC All-Rookie Team selections Alyssa Herrington and Lindsey Loutsenhizer. Kelly Regan, a Second Team All-MAAC selection in 2008-09, and 2007-08 First Team All-MAAC choice Caitlin Flood each reached the 1,000-point plateau under Hill’s guidance.
Hill came to Riverdale after a decorated four year stint as head coach at Saint Francis (Pa.). While at Saint Francis (Pa.), she led the Red Flash to three Northeast Conference regular-season and postseason championships. Saint Francis (Pa.) made three NCAA Tournament appearances and recorded a 74-46 (.617) record under Hill, the highest winning percentage in program history. The Red Flash also placed in the Top-25 National Academic Ranking twice.
