RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Elizabeth Weber has been named Manhattan College’s head women’s lacrosse coach, athletics director Bob Byrnes announced today. Weber comes to Manhattan after serving as the head coach at Holy Family University, where she led the Tigers to a 27-9 record and two consecutive conference championships in two seasons. A four-year letterwinner in lacrosse at Loyola (Md.), Weber has also held assistant coaching positions at Villanova and La Salle.

“We are very excited to have Elizabeth lead our women’s lacrosse program,” Byrnes said. “She has a great passion for the game, has played at one of the nation’s best programs and already has been a successful head coach. We have no doubt that she will be a great leader for Manhattan College.”

At Holy Family, Weber guided the Tigers to consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) championships in 2012 and 2013. The 2012 conference title, the first in the program’s history, came after the team had a 7-10 record in 2011. Weber guided the squad to a seven-win improvement in 2012 as the Tigers posted a 14-4 mark. In 2013, Holy Family captured its second straight conference championship and finished with a 13-5 record.

“I am extremely grateful and beyond excited for this opportunity to lead the Manhattan women’s lacrosse team,” Weber said. “I’d like to thank both Bob Byrnes and Noah LeFevre for welcoming me to the Jasper family. There is truly something special about this place and I am looking forward to getting started.”

Weber came to Holy Family after spending the 2011 season as an assistant coach at Villanova. While at Villanova, Weber served as the defensive/midfield coordinator. She also monitored the academic status of student-athletes and scouted and recruited at various tournaments. Prior to her stint at Villanova, Weber was an assistant coach for La Salle during the 2010 season. She assisted in running practices, strategies, plays and drills throughout the season. Weber's primary focus was on the attack. As a team, La Salle made its first ever appearance in the Atlantic 10 tournament in 2010.

As an undergraduate, Weber played four seasons for the Loyola (Md.) University women's lacrosse team. During her career, she appeared in 54 games and scored 37 goals to go along with eight assists. Weber was also an assistant coach for the Greyhound Lacrosse Club in Baltimore and also served as an intern in the Loyola athletic communications office.

She earned a degree in communications, specializing in advertising and public relations from Loyola in 2009. Weber also owns a Master’s degree in sports management from Neumann University.
