RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Both the men's and women's track & field teams have been recognized for their success in the classroom by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).  The Jaspers were named to the USTFCCCA Division I All-Academic Team for the 2011-12 season.

All Division I programs with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher for the academic year qualified for USTFCCCA recognition.  Manhattan's women had a team GPA of 3.21, while the Jasper men posted a 3.05 cumulative GPA.  A total of 171 women's programs and 85 men's team across the nation were honored.

Across both teams, Manhattan earned a total of 39 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic selections (17 outdoor, 15 indoor, seven cross country) in 2011-12.  In addition, Roman Ewald (Olching, Germany) was selected to the Capital One Academic All-District I Team.  Ewald and Albert Johnson III (Painted Post, N.Y.) both earned places on the individual USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.
