Box Score Manhattan (2-4-1) wasted little time before posting its first goal as 1:57 into the match sophomore forward Martine Diamond struck for the third straight contest. Diamond finished with a header off a cross from classmate Janie Schlauder. The goal increased Diamond's team-leading point total this season to seven. Albany responded with the equalizer in the 19th minute when junior forward Chelsea DeVerna squeaked a shot inside the top right corner of the goal. The magnificent strike was slightly above the reach of the leaping Davis locking the contest at 1-1. The Jaspers came out of intermission energized and posted the game winning strike with 54:29 on the clock. Senior forward Devon Lutz set up the play as she worked her defender on the right side and sent a feed across goal. The pass found its way through the box all the way to Hunt who finished one off the crossbar from the right side of the box. Lutz added an insurance goal on Manhattan's tally to go ahead 3-1 and secure the victory. She capitalized on her second goal of the season and third point of the game in the 67th minute. Jaspers' senior back Claire Reinhard sent a pass up the middle of the field catching Lutz on the run. Lutz broke free of the defense and lofted a shot over the Albany's charging goalkeeper Dani Britt. Britt, a sophomore from Webster, N.Y., finished with five saves in a complete game effort. Manhattan looks to build on the victory on Sunday when the Jaspers travel to Lafayette. Match time is slated for 1 p.m. in Easton, Pa.
