RIVERDALE, N.Y. -  The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) recognized the Manhattan College women's soccer team for their exceptional academic performance in 2011. The Jaspers earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award, an honor which is given to programs that hold a cumulative team grade point average of 3.0 of higher.

"Our coaching staff is very proud of our team's academic success," explained head coach Brendan Lawler. "We have always put a high emphasis on our efforts in the classroom and our players have continued to produce. We are looking forward to an even more successful year in 2012."

During Lawler's two year tenure at the helm, Manhattan has had 13 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic Team award winners. Additionally, the women's soccer program was one of four Manhattan teams to earn a perfect score on the most recent NCAA Division I Graduation Success Rate (GSR) report.
