Men’s Golf Opens Spring Season at La Salle Invitational

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Coming off a solid fall season, the Jaspers golf team began the Spring 2012 campaign at the La Salle Invitational at Talamore Country Club in Horsham Township, Pa. on Sunday. After round one of competition, Manhattan currently sits tied with Siena in seventh place out of 13 total teams.

The Jaspers shot a combined 325 with Chris Calabro leading the way after his seven-over 78 and is tied for 17th overall. Sophomore Matthew Creamer shot an opening round 79 to sit tied for 21st while Jonathan Feuer began his spring season with a 12-over 83.

Senior Robert Kehoe and Pat Bibaud struggled on day one registering scores of 85 and 89 respectively. The Jaspers are trailing Fordham University, who leads all schools after round one, with a combined score of 300. Iona, La Salle, Hofstra, Niagara, and Monmouth are also ahead of the Jaspers.

The La Salle Invitational will conclude on Mon., March 26, when they resume play at Talamore Country Club.
