Manhattan Women Give Impressive Showing In Day One at MAACs

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Manhattan Women’s swim team helped to rewrite the school record books in the opening day competition of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship at the Burt Flickinger Center in Buffalo, N.Y.

Vanessa L’Heureux began the day off in the 200 Individual Medley by snapping teammate Bridget Latino’s record of 2:18.26 seconds finishing with a time of 2:15.01 seconds in the prelims. The two would then team up, along with Nadine Maher and Kim Geissler to break the school mark in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:40.91 seconds, beating the old record by almost two full seconds.

Overall, the Jaspers sit in 10th place in the competition after one day of events with 32 points. Action resumes on Fri. Feb., 17 at 10:00 a.m. on the campus of Erie Community College.
