Hutzler, Pelletier Named ATAX Student-Athletes of the Week
RIVERDALE, NY – This week’s ATAX Manhattan College Student-Athletes of the Week are junior Alexandra Hutzler (Miller Place, NY) of the women’s swimming & diving team and freshman men’s lacrosse player Trevor Pelletier (Miami, FL). They were selected based on their performances from Feb. 6-12.
Hutzler led the Jaspers to their highest-ever point total at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships. She set five school records during the meet, four in the 100 yard butterfly alone. After breaking both the 50- and 100-yard marks in the preliminary round, Hutzler bettered both times in the final to finish fifth overall with a 57.99-second clocking. She also established a new standard of 1:06.73 in the preliminaries of the 100 yard breaststroke before placing fourth in the final. Hutzler added a fifth-place finish in the 200 yard individual medley, Manhattan’s highest-ever placement in the event.
Pelletier, who also earned MAAC Rookie of the Week honors, scored three goals with an assist in the Jaspers’ thrilling 14-13 triple-overtime win over Wagner on Saturday. He opened the scoring with the first two Manhattan goals of the day before finding the back of the net again with arguably the most impressive goal of the afternoon in a man-down situation in the second quarter. Pelletier capped his big performance with an assist in the fourth quarter.ATAX is a leading provider of tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll & incorporation services for over 28 years.
