Jaspers Host Iona On Senior Night
RIVERDALE, NY – The Manhattan College women’s lacrosse team (3-9, 0-4 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) wraps up its home schedule on Wednesday night with a 7 p.m. matchup against Iona (4-9, 1-3 MAAC). Senior Darby Nolan (Oak Ridge, NJ) will be honored prior to game, which will be her final contest at Gaelic Park.
Manhattan is looking to snap a three-game skid. In their last outing, the Jaspers dropped a 13-10 decision at Niagara on Saturday. Molly Fitzpatrick (Yorktown, NY) leads the team with 27 goals and 38 points, while Nolan has contributed 20 goals this season. Caitlin Murphy (Yorktown, NY) has controlled a squad-best 36 draws, and Emma Kaishian (Yorktown, NY) paces Manhattan with 33 ground balls. Hailey Siemek (Bel Air, MD), meanwhile, has caused 17 turnovers. In goal, Nikki Prestiano (Yorktown Heights, NY) has made 114 saves and put together a goals against average of 11.96.
Iona earned its first conference victory of the season, an 11-9 triumph at Siena, on Saturday. Pamela Giordano paces the Gaels with 27 goals and 31 points, and Jenna Tolzmann has contributed 21 goals and 26 points to go along with 34 draw controls and 30 ground balls. Erin Pugh, meanwhile, leads the team with 35 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers. She’s also controlled 33 draws. Goalkeeper Shannon McCaffrey ranks fourth in the MAAC in goals against average (11.75) and fifth in save percentage (.469).
This will be Manhattan’s final home game of the season. The Jaspers conclude the slate with three straight away from Gaelic Park, starting with a 12 p.m. contest at Siena (1-10, 0-3 MAAC) on Saturday.
