Manhattan Well-Represented On MAAC All-Academic Team

ORLANDO, FL – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men’s and women’s cross country All-Academic Teams were announced on Saturday night at the conference’s Postseason Awards Banquet at Walt Disney World.  Ten members of the Manhattan College women’s team were selected, while seven Jasper men were also recognized.

Manhattan was represented on the women’s side by juniors Kelly Gorman (South Amboy, NJ) and Samantha Manalastas (Smithtown, NY), as well as sophomores Victoria Cruz (West Nyack, NY), Lisa Fajardo (Brooklyn, NY), Caroline Ferri (Garden City, NY), Sam Hoagland (Colts Neck, NJ), Keeley Hogan (Delmar, NY), Kim Jelich (Malverne, NY), Erin Spadaccini (Wilmington, DE) and Gianna Tinto (Kings Park, NY). 

On the men’s side, the Jaspers honored were senior Tom Diliberto (Massapequa Park, NY); juniors John Dove (Monroe, NY), Steven Forte (Bellmore, NY) and Chris Orlando (Newburyport, MA); and sophomores Amir Khaghani (Bethesda, MD), Nick Matson (Clifton Park, NY) and Liam O’Brien (Clifton Park, NY).

In order to be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have completed at least two semesters at their institution and boast a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher.
