Before Manhattan:  Was four-year letterman in both track and field and cross country in high school... was First Team All League in track and field senior and junior year... also as a senior and junior was honorable mention All-League in cross country... was 2nd team All-League in cross country sophomore year... won a NJSIAA student-athlete award.
