Manhattan Drops Regular Season Finale At Iona
New Rochelle, NJ - Iona used a big run that spanned the end of the first half and the beginning of the second en route to posting a 72-51 win over Manhattan at the Hynes Center.
The Jaspers fall to 10-21 and 5-15 in the MAAC while Gaels improve to 19-11 and 12-7 in the league.
Manhattan will be the No. 10 or No. 11 seed for the upcoming MAAC Tournament and will play at either 7:00 pm or 9:00 pm on Thursday, March 2.
Junior Zane Waterman (Winston-Salem, NC / Fayetteville Academy) hit the 20-point mark for the third-straight game, the eighth time this year and the 10th in his career. The North Carolina native finished with an even 20 to go along with a team-high eight rebounds and was 8-for-13 from the floor.
Freshman Aaron Walker Jr. (Brooklyn, NY / Cardozo) scored 15 points with four assists and three steals while junior Calvin Crawford (Middletown, NY / St. Thomas More (CT)) had nine points and five rebounds to round out the top scorers for the Jaspers.
Manhattan shot 43.2 percent (19-of-44) from the floor while posting a 26-20 advantage on points in the paint.
Deyshonee Much had 19 points while Jordan Washington added 18 points and 10 rebounds to pace Iona.
