Manhattan Hosts Marist On Senior Night

Riverdale, NY -
 Manhattan (5-8-1; 3-3-1 MAAC) hosts Marist (7-7-1; 3-3-1 MAAC) in a crucial match with serious playoff implications on Wednesday, October 19 at 7:00 pm. The Jaspers will then head to upstate New York for a MAAC Championship rematch with Siena on Saturday, October 22 at 1:00 pm.

Senior Night
Seniors Lauren Barton, Jenny Bitzer and Tara Teal will all be honored for their service to the program in a pregame ceremony. Classmate Erica Modena will be honored next year as she has another year of eligibility remaining.

Bye Weekend Bliss
Manhattan returns to the pitch after having its annual bye date this past weekend.

Last Time Out
Thanks to Modena’s team-leading fourth goal of the year and freshman Olivia Printy’s five saves, the Jaspers played to a 1-1 draw at Rider.

10 of Manhattan's 14 matches have been decided by one goal or less, including each of the last four. Meanwhile, nine of the Red Foxes’ 15 games and 10 of the Saints’ 15 matches have been determined by one goal or less.

Modena is fourth in the all-time Jasper annals with 23 goals and fifth with 55 points.

With both Manhattan and Marist tied for the sixth and final playoff spot, Wednesday’s match could go a long way in determining the playoff hopes for each team.

The teams played to a scoreless draw in Poughkeepsie with 2015 MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year Kristen Skonieczny making eight saves.

All-Time Against Marist
The Red Foxes lead the all-time series by a 13-5-4 count, including posting an 4-3-3 mark in Riverdale. The last time these teams met at Gaelic Park, Manhattan posted a 2-1 overtime win in 2014.

The Red Foxes possess one of the top scoring tandems in two-time MAAC Player of the Week Camille Bowen (10 goals, 2 assists) and two-time MAAC Rookie of the Week Keri Bradley (8 goals) as the pair have combined for 66.7 percent of the team’s goals.

Championship Rematch
Siena defeated Manhattan 5-2 to win the 2015 MAAC Championship thanks to Kristen Connors’ two scores.

In that match, junior Emily Center registered her first collegiate goal while Barton notched her first collegiate point, assisting on a  Modena goal. For her career, Modena also has two goals against the Saints.

Series History With The Saints
Siena lead the all-time series by a 17-6-4 count, including 10-1-1 at home. In 2014, the Jaspers snapped a five-match losing streak in Albany with a 1-1 tie.
