RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan College designated player Jaci Rahey (West Milford, N.J.) can add another honor to her incredible 2010 season.  Rahey, who came to Manhattan after a decorated career at DePaul Catholic High School in New Jersey, was recently selected to the Passaic County All-Decade Team by the Newark Star-Ledger.

As a high school player, Rahey was named first team all-state, First Team All-North Jersey, first team all-county and first team all-conference all four years.  The 2007 Passaic County Coaches Association Student Athlete of the Year, she led DePaul Catholic to the county title as a freshman in 2004.  Rahey attended the Adidas Elite Top 100 USA Softball Players national showcase in 2006, and she was invited to tryout for the 2008 U.S. Olympic team.  In addition, her softball number was retired at DePaul.

At Manhattan in 2010, Rahey had one of the most prolific offensive seasons in program history, earning First Team All-Northeast Region and First Team All-MAAC honors.  She led the Lady Jaspers in seven different offensive categories, including batting average (.409), home runs (10), RBIs (58) and hits (56).  Rahey became just the second Manhattan player to hit double-digit home runs in one season, and her RBI total was the second-highest in program history.

The Star-Ledger also chose an All-Decade Team for Bergen County, and two former Manhattan College players-pitcher Jillian Medea (2003-06) and outfielder Danielle Just (2006-09) were named to that squad.  Medea is Manhattan's all-time leader in appearances, innings pitched and strikeouts, and her 43 career wins are the second-most in program history.  A three-time First Team All-MAAC selection at designated player, Just was a member of the Lady Jaspers' 2009 squad that earned a share of the first MAAC regular season title in program history.
