Riverdale, NY – This weekend’s tournament (September 25-26) being hosted by the Manhattan College Men’s Golf team at the Split Rock Golf Course has been renamed in honor of Father George Hill, Manhattan’s longtime chaplain who passed away last week. The event will now be known as the “Father George Hill Collegiate Invitational.”

"Manhattan College lost a fine man in Father Hill and I am glad we are able to honor his legcy," said Head Coach Frank Darby. "He'll be watching over my players this weekend as well as all of the Manhattan College students that he cared about so much."

Father Hill was a staunch supporter of Jasper Athletics and he frequently traveled with the golf team on road trips. He could also regularly be spotted behind the bench at basketball games as well as providing encouragement and spiritual guidance to Manhattan College students.
