Seward Claims Monmouth Invitational Individual Title
Deal, NJ - Junior Charles Seward (Tampa, FL / Freedom) fired a one-over 72 to win the individual title at the Monmouth Invitational at Deal Country Club.
Seward finished in a three-way tie for first place with Kyle Burke of Monmouth and U Minn Woon of Fairleigh Dickinson but was victorious by virtue of winning the USGA tiebreaker with the lowest score on the back nine. Seward carded a 35 with Burke notching a 36 and Woon a 37.
Thanks to Seward's performance, Manhattan finished second with a score of 298, two shots back of Fairleigh Dickinson. Monmouth was third (300) and Saint Peter's fourth (313) to round out the participants.
Juniors Ryan Lynch (Boynton Beach, FL / Park Vista) and Johnny Schob (Huntington, NY / Salisbury School) tied for ninth in the field, each finishing with a four-over 76. Senior Connor O'Rourke (Jupiter, FL / FAU) capped the scoring with a five-over 77 in tying for 11th.
