Golf Moves Up To Third On Day Two Of MAAC Championship

Lake Buena Vista, FL - Manhattan fired a 301 (+13) on day two of the MAAC Golf Championship at the par 72, 6694-yard Disney Magnolia Golf Course.

Thanks to a balanced effort, the Jaspers moved from sixth to third and are just eight shots back of defending MAAC Champion Siena at 616 (+30) entering tomorrow's final round.

Senior Connor O'Rourke (Jupiter, FL / FAU) turned in the fourth-best mark of the day, carding an even par 72 in moving up to a tie for fifth place after two days with a 150 (+6).

Junior Johnny Schob (Old Tappan, NJ / Don Bosco Prep) was second on the squad with a 75 (+3) with freshman Preston Shortell (Oxford, CT / Holy Cross) finishing one shot back with a 76 (+4). Yesterday's top performer, junior Charles Seward (Tampa, FL / Freedom) carded a 78 (+6) and is now tied with Schob for 13th through two rounds with identical scores of 155 (+11). Shortell is one shot back in 17th with a mark of 156 (+12).

Siena carded a round-two low of 299 (+11) in remaining in the top spot with a two-day total of 608 (+22), followed by Saint Peter's (615-+29), Manhattan (616-+30), Rider (618-+32), Monmouth (620-+34), Fairfield (625-+39), Iona (630-+44), Niagara (635-+49) and Canisius (638-+52).

Michael Christifulli of Siena notched a second-round low mark of 69 (-3) with teammate Jake Holt continuing to lead all performers with a two-day total of 145 (+1).

Junior Ryan Lynch (Boynton Beach, FL / Park Vista) will open up play for Manhattan on Sunday at 9:00 am.
