Riverdale, NY – Joe Murtha has resigned as the head coach of Manhattan College’s men’s and women’s swimming & diving programs to pursue other professional opportunities. A national search for his replacement will begin immediately.
“We thank Coach Murtha for his association with the program as an assistant and head coach,” said Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Marianne Reilly. “We wish him the very best as he moves on in his career.”
Murtha led the men’s team to a third-place finish at the ECAC Winter Championships and an eighth-place showing at the MAAC Championships this season. The women’s squad, meanwhile, placed eighth at the MAAC meet with a program-record 194 points with the teams combining to set 12 school records at the MAAC Championships.
