Manhattan Sends Four Boats To The Fall Met Championships
New Rochelle, NY – The Manhattan College Women’s Rowing Team participated in the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Rowing Association Regatta Fall Championship Regatta.
The Jaspers brought four boats for the 2,000-meter course.
Women’s Novice 4: Coxswain Amy Sniffen (junior) coached the squad to a third-place finish. In the boat was senior Megan McKee, sophomore Lisa Dominguez, junior Krysta Jurkovik and junior Sam Coggins.
Women’s Novice 8: In the next race of the day, freshman Elizabeth McCabe coxed the novices to third in their heat, finishing the 2,000-meter course in 9:36.6. In the boat were freshman Shannon, sophomore Lisa Dominguez, freshman Zoe Nikolopulos, freshman Jaclyn Leighton, freshman Erin McWilliams, freshman Kate Sexton, senior Megan McKee and junior Sam Coggins.
Women’s Varsity 4: Under the direction of sophomore coxswain Alexandra Polla, the varsity 4 were fourth in their heat finishing the course at 8:36.8. In the boat was stroke Becca Arcomano (sophomore), senior Katie Watroba, sophomore Emma Regenauer and senior Lorraine Piccorelli in bow seat.
Women’s Varsity 8: In the last race of the day, coxswain Amy Sniffen (junior) led the women’s 8 in an exciting race. Placing second in their heat, the women’s varsity 8 defeated both Fairfield and Sarah Lawrence. Completing the course at 7:47.1 was the line-up of freshman Allison Eichhorn, freshman Shannon Forty, freshman Meredith Domaleski, sophomore Grace Murphy, freshman Isabel Shirron, sophomore Phoebe Costello, sophomore Jillian Rider and junior Maggie Tebbetts.
Manhattan will conclude the fall portion of its schedule on Saturday, November 12 when the Jaspers participate in the Frostbite Regatta.
