Manhattan Posts Impressive Showing At Tri-Meet

Philadelphia, PA - Manhattan picked up a win over the weekend in a tri meet with Iona and La Salle on the Schuylkill River.

In the Freshman/Novice 8, the Jaspers defeated local rival Iona by an impressive 15 seconds. The team of Shannon Colford (Fr., Epping, NH / St. Thomas Aquinas), Elizabeth McCabe (Alexandria, VA / Bishop Ireton), Jaclyn Leighton (Fr., Wilkes-Barre, PA / Holy Redeemer), Kate Sexton (Fr., Wrentham, MA / King Philip Regional), Phoebe Costello (So., North Haven, CT / Sacred Heart), Lisa Dominguez (So., Santo Domingo, DR / Bronx Leadership), Leah McGovern (So., Floral Park, NY / Out Lady of Victory) and Erin McWilliams (Fr.) with Scarlett Salinas (Sr., Miami, FL / Robert Morgan) serving as the coxswain clocked a 7:24.5.

The Jaspers' Varsity 8 squad of Allison Eichhorn (Fr., Moorestown, NJ / Moorestown), Shannon Forty (Fr., Westford, MA / Westford Academy), Meredith Domaleski (Fr., Cutchogue, NY / Bishop McGann Mercy), Kathryn Watroba (Sr., Salt Point, NY / Our Lady of Lourdes), Rebecca Arcomano (So., Saugerites, NY / John A. Coleman Catholic), Lorraine Piccorelli (Sr., Brookfield, CT / Brookfield), Jillian Rider (So., Buffalo, NY / Iroquois) and Maggie Tebbetts (Jr., North Haven, CT / North Haven) with junior Amy Sniffen (Bedford Hills, NY / Kennedy Catholic) serving as the coxswain finished third with a mark of 7:15.70.

In the Varsity Four, the unit of McCabe, Colford, Costello and Sexton with Salinas serving as the coxswain recorded a time of 7:32.5 in defeating Iona while placing second behind La Salle.

Manhattan returns to action at the Sacred Heart Invitational on Saturday, April 22.
