RIVERDALE, NY – Both of this week’s ATAX Manhattan College Student-Athletes of the Week are members of the indoor track & field team.  Junior Paige Chapman (Abingdon, MD) was selected on the women’s side, while the men’s honor went to junior Love Litzell (Ostersund, Sweden).

Chapman took first in the 60 meters and second in the 200 meters at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Indoor Championships over the weekend.  After setting a championship record of 7.57 seconds in the preliminary round of the 60 on Saturday, she matched that time in Sunday’s final to win her first conference title in the event.  Chapman then ran the 200 in 25.00 seconds to earn the silver medal.

Litzell, meanwhile, took first in the weight throw on Saturday night.  He was in second place (by just three centimeters) for a majority of the competition before uncorking a toss of 20.11 meters (65 feet, 11¾ inches) on his final attempt.  With that effort, Litzell captured the MAAC title in the weight throw for the first time in career.
